In July OJSC «Samaraenergo» recorded an increase in power consumption

The month gone by is characterized by an increase in the volume of scheduled power consumption. In comparison with the same period last year, the amount of electric power purchased from OJSC «Samaraenergo» in the wholesale market increased by 9.7%. In July average daily consumption of electric power as compared to June also increased. The increase was 4.8%. An increase of electric power consumption was registered both at enterprises and in residential centers.

According to the estimates of OJSC «Samaraenergo» specialists, the increase in consumption was caused, first of all, by the heat wave that resulted in mass use of air conditioners both in residential buildings and office premises. The increased power consumption was also due to increased production volumes of AvtoVAZ (energy consumption in July 2010 as compared to July of last year, increased by 3.4%), as well as by the switch of the Samara Oblast to Moscow time (people turn on their lights in the evening one hour earlier).
